About
Glint Lab started as a group chat where a few of us kept sending each other links to games we'd found on the bus or in a waiting room. The reviews we could find elsewhere read like press releases, so we decided to just write our own and be blunt about it.
Every game we cover gets installed and played on our own devices. We rotate between an older mid-range Android and a newer iPhone so we can see how a game behaves when the hardware isn't top of the line. Battery temperature, thermal throttling, stutter during busy scenes — that stuff shows up on the phone in your pocket, not in a trailer.
We pick titles based on what people are actually opening every day, plus a few odd ones that surprised us. Genre doesn't matter as much as whether the game respects your time and your thumbs. If something is a chore to hold or eats 20% battery in ten minutes, we say so.
Nobody pays us to place a game higher. The scores are ours, argued over in that same chat, and we change our minds in public when an update fixes something.
