Emberfall Saga

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG you settle into on a long train ride. You gather a party, drift between towns, and work through a surprisingly warm story about a fading kingdom. The writing has personality, and the side characters stuck with us more than the main plot did.

Combat is turn-based and readable on a phone screen, with big touch targets for skills so you're not mis-tapping in a tense fight. There's an auto-battle toggle for grinding, but the manual fights are where the game shines. We'd suggest turning shadows down in the settings — it barely changes the look and noticeably helps the frame rate on older hardware.

Battery is the trade-off here: expect around eighteen to twenty percent an hour during exploration, more in effect-heavy battles. Plug in for longer sessions. It's a genuinely absorbing game, just not a pocket snack.
